Bio

Chase Ventrella is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist currently based in Chicago. With the lyrical influences of Bob Dylan and Colin Meloy of the Decemberists, Chase's music falls in realm of Americana, or Indie Folk Rock. His lyrics are sometimes funny, sometimes poignant, and always relatable. Musically, he draws from many influences, some of these are The Beatles, Brian Wilson, Cat Stevens, CAKE, The Mountain Goats, Nathaniel Rateliff, Ben Folds, Shakey Graves, Elliott Smith, and Jeff Tweedy (Wilco).

Chase, originally inspired by his grandfather,  started playing saxophone in band in elementary school.  He picked up a guitar starting at age 12, and subsequently moved to piano six years later. Since then, he's dabbled at just about every instrument he can get his hands on.

Chase released his first album, Sabotage the Guillotine (under the name Chase Bowman), produced by Jeremy Ellingsen at Swingset Sound, in June of 2015, shortly after his daughter was born.  He took a short break from the music scene when his son was born two years later, but now with two toddlers at home, he has found new motivation, and a plethora of new material, to dive back in to his creative musical endeavors.
